Jewel of El Jebel

The Jewel of EL JEBEL is an award that may be earned by any Noble for service to
EL JEBEL
. The Jewel may not be given to any Noble unless he has earned the necessary Points. Five Hundred points are necessary to receive a Jewel.

Only the Potentate can award special points ( not defined in this document).
Circus points shall be awarded only by the Chief Rabban.

Points earned by a Noble CANNOT be given to any other Noble.

Points CANNOT be given for hours worked if unit is getting paid for the service
being provided.

A Jewel or points toward a Jewel CANNOT be bought except by means of donations
as defined in this document.

Points are accumulative from year to year and the full amount need not be earned
during any single calendar year.

For the second and each successive accumulative 500 point, a "STAR" will be
given which may be attached to the ribbon of the Jewel of Honor Collar,
No "STARS" are to be given, attached or otherwise worn on the Gold or Silver Collar.

A record of points earned by Nobles for attendance at rehearsals and official appearances must be approved by the Unit Secretary and submitted to the Recorders Office.

When a Unit or Shrine Club obtains a Ladder of Smiles, the sixty-(60) points may be given to any ONE member of the unit . The President may arbitrarily assign the points or the members of the Unit or Club may vote upon which member is to be given the points.

The Secretary must notify the Recorder’s Office by January 15th of each year as to
the disposition of the points

When a Unit/Club donates to an approved Charity; (other than Ladder of Smiles) the points earned for the donation maybe given to one or more Nobles as determined by the Unit/Club President and Secretary. The minimum that can be given to any one Noble is 25 points. The Potentate and/or Recorder must approve the submitted distribution.

An honor-roll board is located just inside the main doors of the Center that lists
the names of the Nobles who have obtained their Jewel.
They are alphabetical under the year in which the Jewel was earned.

Points sent in from the various units/clubs must be entered on the El Jebel Points Record and Report Sheet (see attached) and than submitted to the Recorders Office.
The Points Office must approve any other form,
( No small hand written notes will be accepted)

Points will only he awarded for the items listed below. The Potentate and the
Recorder must approve all exceptions or special awards in writing

ALL Circus points (sales, work, etc.) must be submitted through the Circus office
and be approved by the Circus Chairman (Chief RABBAN).

A lead person for the activity must submit ALL points;  i.e. committee Chairman,
Chief Aide. Unit Secretary/Points Chairman, etc.
Exception to this is Circus, Blood, donations (both Monetary and Physical), etc.

No points are to he earned for mileage to activities Deliveries, work assignments. deliveries, travel to out of area etc.

No points are to be given for Travel time to any activity or event

JEWEL OF HONOR

The Jewel of Honor was established in 1975 for those Nobles who have earned 5.000 points.
This means that they have earned their Jewel
and nine (9) additional "STARS"

 

SILVER JEWEL

For Nobles that have earned an additional 17,500 points or 35 "STARS" above the Jewel of Honor

 

GOLD JEWEL

For Nobles that have earned an additional 17,500 points or 35 "STARS" above the Silver Jewel

The Following List Enumerates The Way Points May be Earned

1 Point for each $1.00 Value for any acceptable donations to El Jebel Temple or Shrine Charity provided an acceptable dollar appraisal is presented at the time of the donation, The Recorder must approve the dollar valve in writing.

1 Point
for each $1.00 contributed to the Hospital Transportation Fund, Renovation Fund, Shrine Hospitals or any other approved Charity.
Recorder must approve the donation in writing.

Points per hour for any approved working activity: i.e. Office work, work parties, Provost Guard, Directors Staff, Radops, Bingo, Circus. (These points will NOT be given
if the Unit is being paid for the Service being provided.) If money being earned/raised
is being donated to one of the approved Charities directly ,then points may be earned.
If Unit/Club is being paid, points will not be given until such time as the unit donates
the money (or part of it) to an approved Charity.

Points for each business meeting attend regardless of meeting length

10 Points
for each rehearsal attended regardless of rehearsal length.

to Unit/Club members who participate in non-call-out parades and community performances i.e. hospital visits, fund raising affairs (unless being Unit/Club is being paid), Charity performances etc. All such activities must have written approval of the potentate before points can be given.

10 Points per activity day for every Noble that attends any out of six county area activity sponsored by the Potentate. i.e. Hospital trips. Ceremonials. Conventions, Meetings, etc. These points are earned over and above the points for the parade at such activity.
(If a call-out parade outside of the six county area, total points would be 10 for the
activity and 25 for the parade =total of 35 points). The six county area is defined as Adams, Arapahoe, Boulder, Denver, Douglas and Jefferson Counties.

for First Line Signer of an El Jebel Associate

for First Line Signer of an El Jebel Shrine Affiliation

100 Points
for the placement of a Paper Dumpster

50 Points for the donation of one pint whole blood from a person outside
the Immediate Family

75 Points for the donation of one pint of whole blood from the Noble or from a
member of his immediate family . Immediate family is defined as spouse or child.

100 Points for First Line Signer of an El Jebel Restoration Petition

100 Points for $ 100,000.000 Club

100 Points for Sponsorship of a child to a Shrine Hospital.
A member of the Medical Staff must approve this award in writing.

100 Points for First Line Signer for an approved new Blue Lodge Master Mason.
Copy of current membership card must accompany the submission.

100 Points for First Line Signer for an approved new Scottish Rite or York Rite Mason. Copy of approved petition must accompany the submission.

100 Points for First Line Signer for new EL Jebel Shrine Member,
Copy of approved petition must accompany submission.

100 Points Bonus for First Line Signer for a new Master Mason, Rite Body and
El Jebel
Shrine member within a 12- month period of becoming a Master Mason.

150 Points for a Permanent Contributing Membership (PCM)
