Thank You
on your interest in becoming a Shriner and joining the
"Greatest Fraternity
in the World"
and to assist with the
"Greatest Philanthropy in the World!"
Following is a step-by-step guide to becoming a member of
EL JEBEL SHRINE. If you need any
assistance at all, please contact our
Recorder for more
information.
PREREQUISITES:
- The Shrine of North
America is a fraternity that grew out of Freemasonry over a century ago.
Because of this, the Shrine is dedicated to Masonic principles and to
become a Shriner you must first be a Master Mason. If you are not yet a
member of a Masonic Lodge, visit the
Grand Lodge of Colorado
website for more information about Freemasonry and to find a Lodge
convenient to you.
For men who would like to receive additional instruction and explanation
regarding the allegory and symbolism learned in the Masonic Lodge, the
Scottish Rite or the
York Rite
bodies elaborate on the basic tenets of Freemasonry. However, these
"higher degrees" of Freemasonry are not required for membership in
EL JEBEL SHRINE.
- Be willing to have
a good time and join your fellow Nobles of the Mystic Shrine in promoting
fraternalism and fun (NOTE: we will help you to develop this
"prerequisite" if necessary!).
That's it! Now let's
get down to the actual joining part...
