El Jebel Shriners is closely affiliated with Shriners Hospitals for Children®, an international healthcare system dedicated to improving the health of children around the world. From providing quality care to teaching the next wave of healthcare providers, Shriners Hospitals provide hope and healing for the future.
The hospitals offer the following services to children in need regardless of the families’ ability to pay:
- Orthopedics: Since 1922, the Shriners staff has offered customized care to meet the needs of all patients. They offer physical, occupational, and speech therapies when needed.
- Burn Care: Since treating their first burn survivors in the 1960s, Shriners has created some of the most advanced burn treatments available. They also offer assistance with physical rehabilitation and emotional support.
- Spinal Cord Injuries: As the first health care system in the country to develop spinal cord injury rehabilitation for kids, their research has led to new treatment techniques that help children live a full, active life without worry.
- Cleft Lip and Palate: The Shriners’ cleft lip and palate reconstruction program is carefully tailored to meet each child’s needs, allowing them to improve their eating, breathing, communication, and self-esteem.
Shriners proudly partner with Shriners Hospitals for Children® by spending time with patients, transporting families free of charge, and raising funds to support the great work the physicians do for the kids of our community.
